Balanced training implements all four quadrants of operant conditioning (positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, positive punishment, and negative punishment) and carefully chosen tools based on your dog's unique situation.
These methods communicate clear expectations of good behavior to your dog.
I use a million treats, toys, and tons of praise. I also use tools such as slip leads, prong collars, and ecollars. I want your dog to have the best life ever, and balanced training is the best way there.
Positive reinforcement only training (sometimes referred to as "R+" or "science-based") ends up failing you and your dog because it never actually trains the unwanted behaviors out. Positive-only training takes months or even years and costs you lots of time and $$$. It often requires that you have treats on you at all times, avoid everything that triggers your dog, and schedule your life around theirs.
I want better for you.
Balanced training provides clarity and leadership to your dog, truly fixing even the worst problems. Every dog can be a great dog.
